Oct 30, 2008 · The interface on Avast freeware version seems very basic and lacks many user controls in comparison with other makes.On experimenting the only option if you want to keep it, may to disable one of the services i.e. Network shield and see if the connection is restored. Conficker Virus preventing internet access, system restore, Anti-virus SW access. I have a computer infected with the Conficker virus, I believe. My Mcafee anti-virus SW seem to be disabled and I cannot get to it.
